DESCRIPTION

The ALTRAS saddle, has evolved from the  Alta Escuela, is much more elegant with the dressage style cantle. It is a saddle for gala shows and parades. It has included developments in the world of dressage, such as improvements in the seat, in the flaps, tree tech materials. Generally for people very interested in the country dressage and working equitation.

It has a deeper seat and also used in showing and is the style used by the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre, Jerez, in their exhibitions and displays. The Alta Escuela allows for a straighter leg and more of a ‘dressage’ position than the Potrera saddle.

The new Altras saddle is currently (2015) used by the Real Escuela de Arte Ecuestre in Jerez and has been designed in conjunction with the school's riders including Sr Ignacio Rambla and Sr Rafael Soto.

 

Throughout 2015 there may be small revisions made on the advice or recommendations of the Real Escuela's riders. Altras combines the traditional style of the 'high school' saddle with Zaldi's San Jorge; their latest high-tech and best selling dressage saddle, allowing an excellent seat and leg position while retaining traditional Spanish (or Baroque) features. The saddle uses the same high tech San Jorge flexible dressage tree and modern materials in its construction. Flaps are long 'dressage' style with outside ergonomic knee pad (similar to the knee pad on their Lusitanus saddle, made for and in conjunction with the Portuguese School of the Equestrian Art) with new wider panels filled with wool (high tech waterproof and anti-sweat) and a flap without a stirrup leather hole. Made from a choice of superior quality selected European box-calf leather or a choice of suede leather, and a wide range of colours. Comfortable latex rubber seat. Stainless steel safety stirrup bar and long dressage girth straps. Can be ordered with the new 'V' tensioning system to pull the saddle down equally along the horse's back and with an elasticated first girth strap to allow the horse easier movement and breathing. The third billet part of the v system has a velcro for additional adjustment. Also available is Zaldi's thigh block option rather than the conventional knee rolls. Ideal for classical riding, dressage but also for riding in the country, as the saddle is very comfortable for both horse and rider.

This is probably the lightest saddle available in the traditional Alta Escuela style, at around 8kgs.

The total length over the horse's back is approximately 53cm. (depending on seat size selected). Many colours or colour combinations are available.
